Ford Thunderbird Driving and Dining Society

INCLUSIVE is the one word that best describes the Ford Thunderbird Driving and Dining Society. The Society is the outgrowth of conversations years ago when some Thunderbird owners were bemoaning the fact that they had to choose to belong to this or that Thunderbird club. Owners were discussing that they had to choose to belong to two or three or more clubs. There were Thunderbird clubs with restrictions of various kinds including year of production and even model types. Many owners were enjoying the company of other owners who were not in the same local or national or international Thunderbird club. Belonging to the Society is simple. You are a member when you say you are a member and accept the principles of the Society.

The Ford Thunderbird Driving and Dining Society is all inclusive. If you own a Thunderbird, if you have owned one in the past, if you plan to own one in the future, or if you simply are interested in the Ford Thunderbird automobile and the history and lore of this Ford Motor Company product, you are welcome. Consider the Society as an auxiliary to your current affiliations.

The Society is an association of Thunderbird friends enjoying the cars and the people. There is no formal organization, no rules, no bylaws, no annual dues, no officers, no newsletter, no magazine, and no requirements for membership in any other Thunderbird club. The Society encourages Thunderbird driving and fellowships with others of like interest.

The SOCIETY can be likened to infamous marching and chowder societies of years long ago. Our theme and purpose is good fun in having a reason (excuse) to get the Thunderbird out of park and on the road. Add to that the fellowship of a meal with T-Bird friends. Find one or two other Thunderbird owners and immediately you have a group - a Ford Thunderbird Driving and Dining Society in your own home area. Wear the FTDDS patch and the FTDDS shirt and you will be meeting other Thunderbird owners in no time!

The Ford Thunderbird Driving and Dining Society works with contact and communication by word of mouth, telephone, cell phone and e-mail. Talk with your Thunderbird friends! You might have a regular group “get together” time and place, or you can try different locations at different times or have spontaneous gatherings.
